Beachy

I don't know about you, but I'm not a nudist, even though I still haven't bought any swimwear for this summer, already having made my holiday plans. Anyway, it's through my search for some interesting swimwear that I fell upon the models displayed above. This summer, I'm betting the hype's gonna be on these one pieced swimsuits, with their various funky designs, since it seems most people've gotten bored of the single coloured two piece ones you see in nearly every shop you walk into, while truly be in the search for something like the above. The Miss Sixty's Kiss Swimming Suit was perfect for me, since it had exactly the design I was looking for. The model and shape is very original - it has stylish cutouts on the sides, and the back is actually in two pieces, along with it's original reflective pattern, and to me that just about sums up what I search for in swimwear. Another one I thought worth mentioning was the Insight's Supernatural Bathing Suit - a combination of the always fashionable contrast between black and white, and some illustrations (zoomed picture) by Natalie Wood (One of the Insight's designers). After all, you should wear whatever you feel comfortable in and have fun. Since I can't make up my mind about those two beach outfits, I think I'm gonna go nude this summer:) Hope my boyfriend doesn't mind :)

Timber! by Straight Line Designs

"We design and build what you can't find in stores. It's not what we've done; its what we're going to do next” this is the motto of a company I recently discovered called Straight Line Designs. Their innovative ideas are probably not something you'd see daily, and some of their products are really creative, and above all original, say, your, "furniture fantasies come true."

This imitation of a timber log, that is ecofriendly, serves the purpose of an iPod Dock, and is amongst the many recent novelties that Straight Line Designs have been coming up with. This amazing, but yet strange iPod Dock also acts as a set of speakers, sound is emitted from the sides through small holes and there are various buttons to control the functions on top, and I also think you get a really long warranty on this, since nobody is really going to think of stealing a log from your room, but you'd have to double check that...

Eric and Tami Soyring are a married couple, both into design, and their interest in the subject is what led them to create the Staight Line Designs company, with, as it's purpose, that of creating and design products that showed originality and creativity. The guy, who is actually a craftsman, is more into manufacturing and building your ideas, while Tami is the person that comes up with the ideas, looks like female domination in the family, sorry Eric.

So, if you find yourself sitting in the toilet, thinking about a system that could wipe, wash, dry and even perfume your buttocks in 30 seconds, and, on top of everything, looks awesome, then don't hesitate to contact Straight Line Designs, and the best bit is that they ship worldwide too :)

The Aston Shuffle's Gone Mental Slackers!!!

And it's the Aston Shuffle yet again delivering another remix that'll really rock your boat, it rocked mine, this time they went nuts on Full Mental Slackers' "Auto Riot", turning it into another of their signature remix, lots of pitch bends, nice synths, and those little vocal cuts that remind us of their remix of Nu-Coalition a while back.

Ableton Live 8 !

I suppose it's a bit late to write about Ableton Live 8, since it was released, according to your net calender, ages ago, but I still felt like it since I spent the last few weeks toying with it like mad, although this latest version of Ableton's long line of music production programs doesn't seem, at first glance to be much better than it's predecessor, Live 7, we soon see the difference.
Between it's huge repacked library, full of tons of everything, ranging from percs to really sweet bass synths, and renewed effects, including a vocoder, which really does the job :)
Which reminded me of an interview I watched which kind of shows us that, perhaps the Ableton crew is so secretive, it doesn't even keep it's staff up to date with stuff.

Apparently even Robert Henke didn't know what was going on, turns out he was wrong, lots of people need a vocoder, I mean think of Yuksek's stuff, I really couldn't believe he thought nobody needs it, there's barely anyone out there, that produces music that doesn't want to work with one, but before I get carried away, check out these vids with some tutorials and a look around at some of the latest features, enjoy :)

Another Macster?!

It was recently, when checking out the Hype Machine that I noticed their absence of stuff from Steve Mac, which stroke me as odd since it seems Pete Tong has recently played Paddy's Revenge, Steve's latest track in every mix he got the chance to.
Although, I must admit he slightly disappointed me with that track, as it's a bit too constant and housish, while still having that sweet little Irish feel and melody to it, and you must admit the ladies in the clip are more than enjoyable :) .
With production credits ranging through Kate Winslett, Kelly Clarkson and even Atomic Kitten, sadly not amongst my favourites, but he still hit top of the charts, I feel that I should post some of his stuff up here for you guys to check out.

Etienne De Crecy

Etienne De Crecy - going under various aliases such as Superdiscount, EDC, Minos Pour Main Basse and Mooloodjee - is an innovative Dj and Producer known for his house features, and more recently his step into electro, setting off a whole new scene. He is amongst those that established Electro House, siding with people such as his fellow Frenchies; Daft Punk. Etienne evolved a really catchy electro style, that has many elements of house in it, and making his sound somewhat unique I should say his music is almost indespensable.
Etienne's style became a part of what we like to call the "French Touch" which has recently grown and still grows on the international music scene, by many his music is also recognized as fun, fresh and striking electro.
And his stage performance of his new track "Welcome" was amaaaazing, I haven't got the slightest idea how he pulled it
off, but the clip leaves you feeling rather stoned and confused for a while, it's probably the most
brilliant light show since Daft Punk's legendary Pyramid Show (youtube video) in 2006. !!!!!!WOW!!!!!!

ENJOY :)

Totally rad!

I discovered the brand Peoples Cartel recently and fell in love with this amazingly weird and, indisputably, very original Peoples Hate Me tee. The clothing company Peoples Cartel was established by two friends, who "were united in a common cause: to make the world rad one shirt at a time". It's clear that this company, founded in 2006, is going to deliver us with much more to come due to their originaly and sweet ideas
..This DEFINITELY is the t-shirt I'll be wearing this summer, although I am a girl!

Dragonette gets remixed by Up For Grabs!!!

As you probably noticed, there is more than 1 person running the blog and posting stuff (often leading to a conflict of interest :D ) but we both agreed on posting this recently finished remix I did of Dragonette's "Fixin To Thrill", lots of people tell me I seem to like piling sounds up, but this time it looks like I piled them right :) hope you like it...

Kinky and Pinky style

Today I introduce to you two of my friends, Kinky and Pinky, who're going to be my virtual models on my blog, as they look so gorgeous so you'll be seeing them around. I've always been relatively interested in fashion, although not enough to waste every second of my life on it, and as far back as I remember I've always enjoyed wearing what other haven't got, and what obviously would make others' eyes turn on you, I think I inherited this from my mom, as she always spent time making me clothes (love you mom!)...now to get back on the right track, I think that colours are a big part of fashion, it's often said you can see whether a person lives and enjoys his life fully by how colourful that person is. So today we've got a colourful assortment of stuff, Kinky (obviously the girl) is wearing Fluorescent Pink Tights (available at Asos) and an oversized but still funky Obey Zapatista T-Dress (available at Karmaloop). Pinky is wearing an always simple but stylish 55DSL tee and skinny jeans (available at lots of places) and, evidently he didn't like the idea of wearing shoes on todays' photo-session, so we'll move onto the accessories which include a stylish Nooka watch and the always classic but never boring Vans Authentic shoes can be both worn by Kinky and Pinky. The vintage glasses are always a perfect accessory to complete your outfit.

Always More And More

If you've been to Yuksek's myspace in the last while you would have heard his remix preview of Autokratz's "Always More" from there forth coming EP I think, "Down & Out In Paris and London", it's been on there for a while but the song itself seemed to be nowhere to be found, so, as soon as I layed my hands on it I felt the need to post it.
His signature vocoder and synth hits, along with his little piano solo's gives this song a really Yukseky feel that reminds us he's just been getting better and better lately, evolving his style into what seems to be close to Daft Punk's "Robot Rock" with a lot of tweaks and tricks, and without the boring builds that seemed to take forever :D

Another track I really felt the need to post here was The Aston Shuffle's remix of NASA's "Gifted" which I gotta say really hits the spot on my playlist, especially around the drop at 3.30 or something, making it really worth the wait.

Just joking

A little boy was in his room playing with himself, when his
father walked in.
"Son! If you masturbate too much, you're gonna go blind!"
"Dad," the boy said, "I'm over here."

wicked

I was looking for some tights with sweet designs on them, when I discovered Karl Grandin. Sweet! I just love all the little random colorful bits in their designs!

Hello everyone!

Aaand this is my first post! So, my name is Cook MyBrain, I'm reasonably young and in good health. I was never into blogging (thought only the nerds were into it) until recently, when I finally got inspired and decided to make one. It turned out to be something rather interesting, actually. So here I am, posting my first.. post, still having no idea how to change the background...yet. I hope you'll like it.
